Course Objectives

FOUNDATION

The objectives of the Foundation course are to understand:

Key concepts relating to projects and PRINCE2 Project Management
How the PRINCE2 Project Management principles underpin the PRINCE2 Project Management method
The PRINCE2 Project Management practices and how they are applied throughout the project
Prepare for and sit the Foundation examination

PRACTITIONER

The objectives of the Practitioner course are to:

Apply the PRINCE2 Project Management principles
Apply and tailor relevant aspects of PRINCE2 Project Management practices
Apply and tailor relevant aspects of PRINCE2 Project Management processes
Prepare for and sit the Practitioner examination

Please note that the Practitioner course is an examination preparation course and focuses on the application of PRINCE2 Project Management to prepare candidates for the Practitioner examination.

To achieve your course objectives, participants are required to complete pre-course work for both courses (refer to prerequisites section).

KEY TOPICS

The courses explore the following content with the Foundation level focusing on the theory, whilst Practitioner considers the application of the method:

Key concepts of projects and PRINCE2 Project Management
Definition of a project. What makes a project a PRINCE2 project? Features and benefits of PRINCE2 Project Management. The customer/supplier context.

PRINCE2 Project Management Principles
Understanding and analysis of the PRINCE2 Project Managementprinciples. Explain which aspects of a project can be tailored, who is responsible and how tailoring decisions are made.

PRINCE2 Project Management People
Projects need people, how the project is established and managed depends on an understanding of the needs, capabilities, and motivations of the participants and the relationships between them.

PRINCE2 Project Management Practices
Understand the PRINCE2 Project Management practices and how they are applied throughout the project, including business case, organisation, quality, plans, risk, change and progress.

PRINCE2 Project Management Processes
The principles, practices, and processes are applied by the people involved to ensure that the method is fit for the project context.

How this Course is Delivered

As part of PM-Partners’ new integrated learning solution, this course offers students the option to attend our bespoke classroom in person or virtually by dialling in from a remote location. Trainers are skilled at both delivery methods and use the latest in virtual technology to simultaneously provide participants with the same interactive, multi-faceted and challenging learning experience. Whichever delivery mode learners choose, comprehension and recall techniques will be used to provide them with a solid understanding of PRINCE2 Project Management.

For group bookings, courses can be customised to suit your requirements and conducted onsite at your premises, at our training centre, or virtually.

Materials: A comprehensive participant workbook and a course eBook are provided for both courses. A course hard copy is available for purchase at an additional cost.

Exam and Certification Eligibility

FOUNDATION

The Foundation course includes the PRINCE2 Project Management Foundation online exam which consists of:

60 minutes
60 multiple-choice questions
60% pass mark is (36/60)
Closed book exam

PRACTITIONER

The Practitioner course includes the PRINCE2 Project Management Practitioner online exam which consists of:

Multiple-choice format based on a project scenario
70 questions
60% pass mark (42/70)
150 minutes (2.5 hours) duration
Open book (Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2 Project Management7th Edition publication permitted – no other materials permitted)

SITTING YOUR EXAM

One day before the course starts you will receive an email directly from Peoplecert. This includes a voucher code which provides access to course materials and the PeopleCert exam scheduling platform. You have 6 months to schedule and sit your exam online. Please check the requirements here when making your booking.

Your certification will need to be renewed within three years of its original certification date. Please refer to PeopleCert for more information.

PeopleCert administers the PRINCE2 examination scheme. PM-Partners is an accredited partner of PeopleCert (Partner ID: 3800).

DEVELOPMENT UNITS

PDUs
Participants who have been awarded the Project Management Professional (PMP)^® credential by the Project Management Institute (PMI)^® are eligible to earn PDUs for their participation in these courses as follows:

Foundation

Weekday (in-class/virtual) (3 days): 21 PDUs (21 Ways of Working)
Weekend (2 days): 18 PDUs (18 Ways of Working)

Practitioner

All courses (2 days): 14 PDUs (14 Ways of Working)

CPDs
Participants holding any of the Project Management accreditations (CPPP/CPPM/CPPD) are eligible to earn 20 CPDs for each of these short courses.

Foundation: 20 CPDs

Practitioner

Weekday/Weekend (2 days): 20 CPDs
Virtual Training (2 days): 20 CPDs for short course OR 15 CPDs for certification attained

Course Prerequisites

Participants should:

Be project managers or team leaders or have been involved in a project environment
Understand project terminology and concepts or have completed a project management fundamentals course

Foundation

The Foundation course is NOT a project management fundamentals course and therefore does not cover the principles of project management.

To ensure your outcomes are achieved both courses require some pre-course preparation.

For the Foundation course, this will be sent out 2 weeks in advance of the course (or at time of booking if booking less than 2 weeks prior to course commencement). Expected pre-course Foundation preparation time: 1-2 hours.

Practitioner

Participants joining a PRINCE2 Practitioner course will be issued with pre-course work at the end of the Foundation course to ensure adequate preparation for the Practitioner examination.

Expected pre-course Practitioner preparation time: minimum 4 hours.

To be eligible to sit the PRINCE2 Practitioner examination, participants must have obtained a pass in the PRINCE2 Foundation exam.

Where is the training venue located?

Sydney courses are held at 45 Clarence Street, Sydney.
Melbourne courses are held at 34 Queen Street, Melbourne.
Brisbane courses are held at 215 Adelaide Street, Brisbane.

Is this a certified course?

Yes. The exam for this course is to be undertaken online, after the course. Upon passing the exam you will be certified.

Is the exam fee included?

Yes. The exam fee is included in the course cost.

Note: You must have completed and passed the Foundation exam as a prerequisite to sitting the Practitioner exam.

Yes. PRINCE2 Foundation and PRINCE2 Practitioner can be purchased together as a package at a discounted rate.

Payment Options

Credit Card Payments: PM-Partners uses Stripe payment gateway to process Visa, Mastercard, Amex, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay transactions. Stripe has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry so you can be confident that your card details are protected for online purchases.
Bank Transfer: We cannot guarantee your registration(s) until your payment is cleared (bank transfers take 3 days to process). Instructions for payment by bank transfer will be provided at the end of the order process.
Invoice: An invoice will be sent to you after you complete the booking. Payment is required 14 days before the course start date. If you're buying within 14 days, you need to arrange payment ASAP with a minimum of 72 hours before course start date.
